Sonya Van Gelder is speaker, writer and researcher of ancient mysteries. Growing up in Africa, New Zealand & Australia, Sonya gained a keen interest in the varied cultures of the indigenous peoples worldwide. With over 20 years of personal research into the ancient mysteries and esoteric teachings, she was further inspired when she journeyed to Egypt with renowned authors, Robert Bauval and Graham Hancock in 2011.
Sonya’s continuing research has led her to many of Australia’s significant sacred areas and to working closely with original elders. She has studied this area extensively and her research may help to prove the authenticity of the controversial Egyptian Hieroglyphs that were discovered here (during modern times) in the early 1900’s.
Feeling a deep connection to and a mutual respect for the aboriginal elders and their stories, Sonya feels it is of vital importance to take a closer look at the ancient aboriginal lore and explore its multi-level significance both locally and globally. Her astounding findings point to an entirely different history of Australia and its global connections, including Egypt, than the one that we have been told in our text books. She believes that it is essential that we unite to protect the sanctity of this lore and the sacred sites that exhibit unique characteristics and hold many secrets within them.
Sonya is currently writing a book that will explore the similarities in the symbolism and mythologies within our ancient mysteries worldwide-connecting many dots and helping to bring humanity to a greater awareness of significant truths to who we really are and of the esoteric wisdom and spirituality that was once a global understanding.
With many ancient sites and artifacts being uncovered around the globe and the assistance of our modern day computer era and internet, it has become increasingly apparent, how many similarities arise, when researching ancient texts and symbols, raising the question of its origins and original meanings?
Throughout the world ancient texts and symbols in the form of rock carvings, hieroglyphs, petroglyphs and the alike are gradually being discovered. Many identical symbols have been found in different countries situated at vast distances from each other. Although not all of the symbols found across the globe are an exact copy of each other, the strikingly similarities leaves one with the assumption that all languages trace back to a single common source… The Parent Civilization.
In many parts of the world, archeologists and researchers are uncovering this archaic form of Sanskrit now recognized as a precursor to all known languages in every region where they are found. Translations and grammar suggest a global human culture thrived in antiquity.
In the Sinai the language has been given the name “old Negev,” For centuries in Australia it has be known by the name “Panaramitee,” It has been misrepresented as Native American Indian sign language in the America. The language and grammar are now understood to be proto-Canaanite and appear to have roots in common with Egyptian and Hebrew. The petroglyphs successfully translate to English using an old Hebrew dialect in all three locations.
Evidence of the antiquity of this script in both America and Australia suggest that this root language may pre-date that of the Hebrews. The team who made the discovery suggest using an unbiased name, such as “the First Tongue,” to avoid any presumptive association with a specific people or era. The content of the translations, although not complete, suggests a common culture and spiritual belief system.
The records of the ‘Koori People’ (Australian Aborigines) are inscribed upon the rocks of this land, and one of the patriarchs of our race, ‘Kingajanik’ goes back 50,000 years ago, and as a race the ‘Koori’ people go back to a time even before this. The ‘Koori’ people are the oldest race upon this planet, undisturbed by wars of conquest by outsiders, or the mixing of blood, we were until the whiteman came, the purest racial line on earth.
The beginnings of the ‘Koori’ race was ‘Baiame’ and yet inscribed upon the rocks of ‘Innaminka’ in South Australia, is the record of another race of people that once inhabited this island continent before it became part of the frozen south, before ‘Baiame’ and before the ‘Koori’ peoples. We simply refer to these people as the ‘Old Ones’. – The Book of Yahi ‘Boomba Djunebun’
In Australia, this alphabet has been found in many locations and adheres to the grammar and structure of the other known petroglyphs on the other two continents. Ironically, instead of considering the similarity to other archaeological sites around the globe as evidence of a global culture, the scientific community in Australia has denied the possibility that this is any type of “system” at all, either writing or storyboard. The concept that these odd shapes somehow formed a system of communication was first put forth by Lesley Maynard. Maynard received overwhelming resistance to his assertion and he finally discontinued his efforts. By the late 1980s, there was virtually no interest in these petroglyphs. In 1995, Bednarik reported the results of his experiment to see how readily the Panaramitee Tradition could be recognized. He sent drawings and pictures of several examples of petroglyphs to various rock art scholars around the globe. Ninety-eight (98%) percent wrongly identified petroglyphs from the United States, Africa and Europe as being Panaramitee Tradition. Bednarik summarized as follows, ”It is either not possible to identify the Panaramitee style, or… this is a world-wide style.” – Josephine Flood – Rock Art of the Dreamtime
Giving the very ancient history of the Australian Aboriginals, and the words of Boomba Djunebun, we can assume that the dating given of three to four thousand year old, needs to be revised. If the petroglyphs found here in Australia, are of an extreme similar pattern found in other areas of the globe, and the elders tell us they belong to the race which preceded them, surely we are looking closer to at least 50,000 years. An ancient race, which we are told, migrated north, when the earth tilted on its axis and moved this southern continent closer to the South Pole.
The following quote I found quite profound, as it in my opinion, is very true to form.
And the whole land was of one language and of one speech. . . . And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower whose top may reach unto heaven. . . . And the Lord said, behold, the people is one, and they have all one language. . . . Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language that they may not understand one another’s speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth. Genesis XI. 1-9
Although there is still more spread sheeting to be done, this is a small example of similar symbols found globally.
The lost Enochian knowledge reveals the mother tongue as a “Language of Light”. Known to the ancients as HIBURU, it is the primal seed language, introduced at the beginning of this time cycle. The alphabetic forms emerge from luminous flare patterns of the brain. It is a true language of light, coursing through our very nervous system. – – The Lost Art of Enochian Magic – Dr. John Dee
The introduction of the Keys of Enoch (JJ Hurtak) explains that the Enoch Keys were given through a holy scroll of burning Light, where geometries pulsated out of the scroll, giving wisdom to the receiver. According to Enoch the ancient Egyptian-Hebrew-Tibetan-Sanskrit-Chinese tongues are to be used, because they still connect with the Masters of Wisdom.
Hiburu is a harmonic language, mimicking the waveform properties of light. The “keys” Enoch speaks of, turn out to be sound keys, keys to be vibratory matrix of reality itself. The Enochian knowledge describes sonic equations, encoded within the ancient mantras and god names, capable of directly affecting the nervous system and creating a profound effect of healing and higher states of consciousness.
A personal experience obtained whilst in Egypt on tour with brothers Robert & Jean-Paul Bauval and Graham Hancock in April of 2011, visiting the Karnak Temple in Luxor. I put my forehead to one of the enormous stone block walls (a short ceremony shown to me by one of the Temple guards a few days earlier, which entailed touching hand to forehead, hand to heart, repeated three times, then forehead to stone). What I received, I will never forget. In my third eye, I was being downloaded hundreds of geometric patterns in a matter of minutes. I could not even recall what they looked like as they were coming in so fast, I returned from that journey with some remarkable new insights.
Aunty Beve ( a friend and mentor), was one of the last remaining fully initiated Tribal people of the aboriginal Darkinjung Tribe in the Gosford area. She once mentioned that it was common practice for an initiate to learn a new symbol at each stage of the initiation. It was always known what stage of initiation a student had achieved by how many symbols the initiate had attained.
With all this in mind, I have to wonder if the areas of petroglyphs, which are known to be sacred sites all over the world, are areas of initiation ceremonies?
According to legend, the science of spiritual liberation also known as alchemy, illumination, enlightenment, transfiguration or ascension, was a gift to humanity from the previous civilizations ‘The Old Ones’, with the purpose of embodied liberation of the human soul, whereby ones evolutionary soul consciousness is accelerated to completion. The science of transformation was the highest valued knowledge and the ultimate test of the human experience to the ancients. Suppression by orthodox religion has fragmented the truth and forced the knowledge underground into mystery schools and secret societies. It has been referred to as the Perennial Philosophy or the Underground Stream of knowledge due to its hidden nature encoded in symbols, myth, and scripture.
The Language of the Birds, known as the Green Language or the Language of the Gods, embraces Kabbalah, Astrology, Alchemy and Tarot. Its grammar is symbolism, holographic symbolism, when properly understood. The language of the birds was considered a secret and perfect language and the key to perfect knowledge. It assists with the ascension of human consciousness in the alchemy of time Thoth, the Egyptian Bird Headed God, scripted the languages of our reality, to be viewed as symbolic messages through the ages, and finally brought to light at the end of the cycles of time.
Fulcanelli, a Twentieth century alchemist and philosopher, in his masterpiece ‘The Mystery of the Cathedrals’, published in Paris in 1926, was a master of the Green Language itself, and a master of the subjects usually hidden within it. Fulcanelli tells us, the key to unraveling the greater mystery of alchemy lies in an understanding of what he calls the “phonetic law” of the “spoken cabala,” or the “Language of the Birds.” “What unsuspected marvels we should find, if we knew how to dissect words, to strip them of their barks and liberate the spirit, the divine light, which is within” – The Mystery of the Cathedrals – Fulcanelli
It was also the language of the Freemasons (“All the Initiates expressed themselves in cant,” Fulcanelli reminds us). The language/art of light, is derived from the Language of the Birds, which seems to be a sort of Ur-language taught by both Jesus and the ancients. (The history of the word ‘Cant’ is seen to originally have referred to the chanting of friars). Characteristics of Cant are found in a few local dialects such as Picard, Provencal and the language of the Gypsies.
Fulcanelli tells us that “Language, is the instrument of the spirit, has a life of its own – even though it is only a reflection of the universal Idea.” This Gnostic meta-linguistic mysticism is the core it seems of illumination itself.”
Greek and Coptic writings in Alexandria, The Old Testament scrolls, even the early teachings of Clement of Alexandria and throughout most Oriental Literature, reveal references to systems of measurement, systems of vibration and systems of Light Consciousness.
Birds played an important role in Indo-European religion, from the Renaissance, it was the inspiration for some magical priori languages, in particular musical languages. The Whistled Language is based on natural languages used in some cultures, which are sometimes also referred to ‘The language of the birds’. The language of birds in Greek mythology may be attained by magical means. Democritus, Anaximander, Apollonius of Tyana, Tiresias, Melampus and Aesopus were all said to have understood the birds.
In Celtic mythology, birds usually represent prophetic knowledge or bloodshed (especially crows). Aboriginal Tribes of Australia had Bunjil the eagle and Waa the crow alternating throughout the tribes as their tribal symbol. The symbolic meaning of the Raven in Native American Indian lore describes the raven as a creature of metamorphosis, and symbolizes change/transformation. The Raven is the Native American bearer of magic, and a harbinger of messages from the cosmos. Messages that are beyond space and time are nestled in the midnight wings of the Raven and come to only those within the tribe who are worthy of the knowledge.
The concept is also known from many folk tales (including Welsh, Russian, German, Estonian, Greek), where usually the protagonist is granted the gift of understanding the language of the birds either by some magical transformation, or as a reward for some good deed by the king of birds.
In Sufism, the language of birds is a mystical language of angels. In the Talmud (Louis Ginzberg, Legends of the Bible, 1909), Solomon’s proverbial wisdom was due to his being granted understanding of the language of birds by God. In Egyptian Arabic, hieroglyphic writing is called “the alphabet of the birds”. In Ancient Egyptian itself, the hieroglyphic form of writing was given the name medu-netjer (“words of the gods” or “divine language”). The ancient Incas called it the Court Language, which according to them it was the key to the double science, sacred and profane. Middle Ages called the Gay Science/Knowledge known as the ‘Language of the Gods’
Geometric Patterns and DNA
Both the writings of Thoth and Enoch suggest this “Language of Light”, the harmonic science of the ancients, could actually affect DNA.
Thanks to the work of modern molecular biologists Fritz-Albert Popp and Mae-Wan Ho, we now know that DNA emits a weak form of coherent light that works like a communication system between cells and even between larger organisms. In this regard, the art of light is indeed the instrument of the spirit. It is nothing less than the mechanical framework so to speak, allowing the ‘Mind’ to exist in the universe. The work of anthropologist Jeremy Narby, states the Ur-language of light is a “forest television” of images in which “DNA is a snaked shaped master of transformation that lives in water and is both extremely long and small, single and double. Just like the cosmic serpent, the one who has the skin of the dragon, or has become one with the cosmic serpent of DNA, can understand this symbolic language of light. – The Cosmic Serpent – DNA & The Origins of Knowledge
The use of cymatics proves to us that every different vibration/frequency has its own geometric pattern. The word Cymatics derives from the Greek ‘kuma’ meaning ‘billow’ or ‘wave,’ to describe the periodic effects that sound and vibration have on matter.
The holographic symbols of the Language of Light is said to alter the memory substrate of Language, affecting the psychological, neurological, biochemical and cosmological levels of thought attunement. It is known as an instant communication with the infinite mind, using ideographic and pictographic cybernetics. The holographics connect multiple centres of growth with a parent symbol, therefore the brain must be trained to handle complex ideographs and pictopraphs through a unique Light process which co ordinates all the Chakra centres to the coupling of sound and colour indexes. Herbert Fröhlich was a theoretical physicist in the field of solid state physics and the father of superconductivity theory. “An assembly of cells, as in a tissue or organ, will have certain collective frequencies that regulate important processes, such as cell division. Normally these control frequencies will be very stable. If, for some reason, a cell shifts its frequency, entraining signals from neighboring cells will tend to reinstall the correct frequency. However, if a sufficient number of cells get out-of-step, the strength of the system’s collective vibrations can decrease to the point where stability is lost. Loss of coherence can lead to disease or disorder.”
The DNA coil itself is representive of a spiraling snake. Quite possibly the reason the serpent was highly venerated in most parts of the ancient world? All through history the serpent and the bird has been held with high regard and connected to wisdom and medicine. . The high initiates of Egypt would adorn the cobra and bird on their headdress over the third eye area symbolizing their high initiate status.
Similarities are also found with the symbolic Caduceus (Rod of Hermes / Thoth) depicting the two intertwined snakes ascending in union to the open feathered wings as does the representation of the Mesoamerican Deity Quetzalcoatl as the Feathered Serpent.
The Rainbow Serpent or Sky Serpent has been used in sacred ceremonies and Dreamtime Stories by the Australian Aborigines for thousands of years. The Elders claimed that ceremonial rites associated with its use were taught to them by the sky gods, the Ancient Ancestors. The Rainbow Serpent represented the sacred spirit energy called the Serpentine Life Force (Kundalini) which was directly associated with the ‘Spirit Bird’, representing the flight of the soul. The physical form used in rituals and ceremonies, entailed a multicoloured wooden sculpture of two snakes entwined from the base to the top, very similar to the Caduceus. – The Secret in the Bible – Tony Bushby
The ancient Caduceus symbolizes on an esoteric level the alchemical process. The staff represents the spinal column, the spiral of the two serpents represents the kundalini life force. The sphere at the top of the staff represents the energy center of the brain or the seventh chakra. The Wings at the top of the staff represents freedom or liberation of the soul from the cycle of birth and death. One transcends the bonds of ego and bodily identification, releasing the spirit from the confines of matter.
In India, kundalini is personified as the Divine Mother: Shakti Ma, Kali Ma, or other goddesses. She is the feminine power at the base of the spine, which travels up the spine to unite with the masculine power, her consort, Lord Shiva (Shakta), in the seventh chakra, sahasrara. This union of opposites is a powerful symbol depicted in all cultures.
As kundalini ascends through the chakras, mental limitations are gradually removed so consciousness can shine in its pristine glory. Mental fluctuations settle down and the mind becomes serene. As sahasrara chakra kundalini merges with Shiva, who is identified with her. In her formless state she is consciousness. In her creative form she is Shakti, the power of manifestation. Kundalini’s descent creates increasing ignorance, bondage, and delusion. The same kundalini energy, as it ascends, causes spiritual awakening, freedom, and wisdom.
This process is also mirrored in the Jewish mystical tradition of the Kabbalah when ascending the Tree of Life which esoterically is the seven energy centers or chakras that run up the spinal column to the brain. Fulcanelli insists this Ur-language is the common language of initiation and illumination behind cultural expressions as different as the Christian, the Inca, the medieval troubadours and the ancient Greeks.
The Mayans of Meso-America referred to the Pleiades (The Seven Sisters) as ‘The Cranary’ as it was the seedbed of their civilization and the cosmic star mother whom from they received the codes of light. Published spokesman of the Mayan culture, Don Alejandro Wandering Wolf of Guatemala Santa Fe, New Mexico 1999 states…
“The Wingmakers are actually the star people. Mayan actually means “my people.” They first came to Atlantis. Our first pyramids are there, underwater. In the Bermuda area. Tulan was the name of the city of Atlantis. Their great prophets, (star people), came and gave an oral transmission. It has been passed down for thousands of years. In the beginning there were four of them. The first teachers from the Pleiades taught the astronomy and the beginning of creation, the Great Mysteries. They have the power of the sixth and seventh senses and the third eye. They came to teach us these things. The way of working together, etc. There have been many visitations from the Pleiades, then they return there, then they come back here again and come down to Asia, Tibet, Kaimaya, and in India also.
“Nagamaya” they were called. There are glyphs that speak of these visitations, like the Wingmakers. More will be discovered when it is time. There are some now incarnated in bodies, we do not know who they are and it is a secret until the time comes. This is the return of the ancestors spoken about in the prophecies. They will all arise, not just Mayan, all of us “
Naga is a type of aquatic serpentine semi-divine creature mentioned in Buddhist canonical literature and depicted in artwork on temples in South and Central Asia. Nagas figure in Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. In India Naga is also known as a Hindu who travels from place to place living a very simple life without any possessions, very similar to the ways of the Gnostic and Cathars of Europe. In the Bible Jesus was referred to as a naggar (a serpent of wisdom). Naggar: Noun = the Learned Man; before the bible was canonized.
Throughout the planet, within traditional native communities there are often higher spiritual orders (elders) men/women of high degree were known to the western world as Shaman, Witch Doctors, Medicine Men, Clever Fellas and the alike, who are initiated in the most sacred knowledge held by their people, knowledge unknown to the general community. From my own experiences, the knowledge comes from a multidimensional level, once we are able to shake off the bonds of matter, we are then able travel the spiritual realms, and connect with multidimensional beings.
According to Enoch, man will not appreciate the Scriptures of Light as they will only understand scripture in terms of mythology taught from a historical standpoint rather than learning the higher spiritual truths. However the time will come when it will become clear to man that organized religions, proclaiming themselves as the authority of Christ will be seen as the ‘Abomination of Desolation’.
Was this higher truth, the Ancient Language of Light, the foundation on which religions were formed? Did the priesthood transform the truth into a puzzling mythological nightmare in order to control the masses and keep the people disconnected from their higher spiritual truths and each other?
Furthermore, were the indigenous races the last to feel the effects of modern religion retaining some of the ancient knowledge they are imparting with us today? If so, this would certainly give reason for the mass genocide of native tribes and stolen generations globally since the Spanish Conquest and sadly still ongoing today.
Oahspe is a book written in 1880 by an American dentist named John Ballou Newbrough [1828-1891]. He claimed that it was the result of automatic writing, dictated to him by spirits in a trance.

God commanded man to make stone and wooden images, and engravings also, of everything upon the earth. And so man made them; according to his own knowledge he made them.
God said: As every living creature has a name, so shall its image and its engraving have the same name. And so shall it be with all things on the earth, in its waters, and in the air above the earth, the image and the engravings shall have the same names as the real things themselves.
And God sent his angels down to man, to inspire him in the workmanship of images and engravings, and man thus accomplished the commandments of God.
